The Coiltek Gold Centre, Maryborough, is situated in the famous Victorian Goldfields, arguably the best nugget producing region in the world.

In 1854, when Gold was first discovered in the Maryborough region, a journalist from the 'Port Philip Herald" arrived to report on the new gold rush. Standing on Bristol Hill (Maryborough) just on dusk, he noted that for 5 miles in all directions all he could see 'was the twinkling of the gold diggers campfires in an unbroken swath accross the landscape'. The gold rush continues today, due mainly to the introduction of high-tech metal detectors which have unearthed thousands of ounces of gold in recent years.
Established in 2002, the Coiltek Gold Centre, has become the major outlet in Victoria for gold propspecting and ancillary equipment.
